Day to Day

The recruitment process is an integral part of any organization, and it is the responsibility of the recruiter to develop, facilitate, and implement all phases of the recruitment process. As a recruiter, you will work closely with department managers to identify hiring criteria and draft detailed & accurate job descriptions. You will also be responsible for identifying and implementing efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization. This includes assisting with job postings, advertisement processes, screening applications, selecting qualified candidates, and scheduling interviews. The recruiter is also responsible for overseeing the preparation of interview questions, and other hiring and selection materials, attending and conducting interviews with managers, and collaborating with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process. Additionally, the recruiter must ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies. The recruiter may also be responsible for attending and participating in college job fairs and recruiting sessions, as well as performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

This position requires a combination of skills, experience and education including, but not limited to

  • 3-7 years experience in managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Preferred

There are a number of additional skills, experience, and education that would be beneficial to this position including, but not limited to:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in A/E/C industry
  • PHR Certification

Alta offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule where most employees work from home three days per week. In-office days support our collaborative culture, one of our core values. Our Portland office is located close in to downtown Portland, offering excellent access to public transportation.

Compensation
The pay range for this job in Portland is $57,580-$80,100 annually. Placement within the range is based upon experience, skill-sets, and qualifications.
