Day to Day

You will use your marketing and proposal development experience to coordinate proposal teams to respond to RFQs and RFPs, developing formal proposals including writing and editing some or all of the proposal and appropriately formatting and proofreading the proposals for presentation. You’ll have the opportunity to bring your creativity to a wide range of projects such as white paper production, branding campaigns, and newsletter development. You will also assist with the management of marketing-related expenditures including managing budgets for targeted conferences, printed materials, and other marketing expenditures. You’ll collaborate with other operations departments including Information Technology, Finance, Administration, and Human Resources in the development, implementation, and execution of operations department goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing; 2+ years of experience in a professional services firm
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing, business or a related field of study
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and analytic skills
  • Exhibits strong initiative, the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional teams, and the ability to work independently with little to no supervision
  • Detailed understanding of the proposal development process for private and public agencies
  • General understanding of the planning and design process
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar products
  • Excellent professional ethics, accountability, and decision-making capabilities
  • Understanding of enterprise-wide management tools

Preferred

  • Experience using Deltek Vision
  • Active participation in industry-relevant professional associations and committees
  • Experience managing and mentoring staff

Compensation
The pay range for this job in Durham is $59,500–$72,250 annually. Placement within the range is based upon experience, skill sets, and qualifications.
