The 2018 Trail Nation Summit hosted by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy brought together hand-picked industry leaders from across the country to harness the energy and the knowledge that is fueling the national movement to connect communities and regions by trails. Alta Planning + Design attended the summit in Milwaukee, WI June 5-7, 2018. Alta’s Heather Deutsch, Senior Planning Associate, was a panelist on the lunch plenary titled, “Disruption, Mobility and the Built Environment”. The panel was a conversation with leading national voices about strategies to prepare for imminent changes in the way we use our streets, sidewalks, trails and public spaces in the wake of technological and cultural disruption.
