Congratulations to the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council and East Central Florida Regional Planning Council for being recognized by the National Association of Development Organizations for the Coast to Coast Trail Urban-Rural Overlay Study.
Each year, NADO recognizes member organizations that demonstrate innovative approaches to regional economic and community development through our Innovation Awards program.
The cross-state trail stretches from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic Ocean and traverses nine counties, and will span approximately 250 miles when completed. Alta Planning + Design was recognized for our creative ways to promote economic development through ecotourism and trails. Alta identified key natural and cultural resources along the route to be celebrated and enjoyed by users, developed of a unifying branding scheme, and provided design guidance recommendations for amenities, landscaping, trailheads, and street crossings.
