Elizabeth Burke

Passionate about human and environmental health, Elizabeth uses community planning practices to create spaces that provide positive impacts through active transportation. She has experience working with community members and municipalities on comprehensive plans and analyzing data to provide recommendations for greenway development. Elizabeth earned a B.S. in Sustainability Sciences and Health Sciences from Furman University and a M.A. in Geography with a concentration in Community Planning from UNC at Charlotte. She is excited to be able to work in the field of active transportation that she prioritizes in her daily life.

“I believe that many of the healthiest choices for people are also the healthiest choices for the environment, and prioritizing those can create spaces for people to benefit from interactions with nature and each other. I hope to create opportunities for active transportation that have positive impacts in all aspects of a community.”
