Matthew is a transportation planner with 15 years of experience building healthy and active communities in Minnesota. Matthew brings seven years of experience as the Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator for Minneapolis Public Works, where he served as the technical lead for bicycle and pedestrian operations.  During this time, Matthew managed several planning studies and capital projects (including quick-build safety projects), managed the Open Streets planning processes, and oversaw the City’s pedestrian & bicycle advisory committees. “I began my career managing a project called “Active Living Bemidji,” which was a five year comprehensive effort to help people incorporate physical activity into their daily routines. The concept of active living was inspiring to me and I haven’t looked back. I have also adopted this lifestyle by selling my car and getting around Minneapolis via walking, biking, and transit for nearly a decade.”
