Nick Aguilera

Active transportation can change the world! I'm passionate about the health, equity, and environmental benefits of bicycle and pedestrian transportation. I'm excited to work for Alta to help plan for and build communities where people can walk, bike, and move around safely and freely.


Nick is passionate about the potential of transportation planning and urban design to shape more equitable health and environmental outcomes around the US and the world. He has previously worked on active transportation and urban design projects to evaluate, plan for, and implement bicycle and pedestrian projects as both an intern and a full-time planner with Alta. Prior to his work at Alta, Nick taught urban planning courses to undergraduate students in Spain on a Fulbright scholarship. He also worked on outdoor recreation projects with the National Park Service. Nick is skilled in teaching and explaining complex urban planning concepts to the public. In addition to his skills in community outreach and engagement, he has experience with spatial analysis, survey design and research, bicycle and pedestrian master planning, grant writing, and report production. Nick earned his Master of City Planning degree from UC Berkeley in 2017.
