Karen Bosshart

Karen is a Western Washington native with a history of working in public environmental education and outreach roles through city government and local higher education institutions. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Washington, with a focus on equitable urban development. As a Programs Specialist, Karen works with her team and Alta’s partners to develop programs that encourage communities to consider and adopt active transportation modes.

“I am passionate about promoting the sustainable growth of vibrant, well-connected communities. Growing up in a town without many alternatives to commuting by car, I decided to dedicate my career to community planning, for the benefit of people and our shared natural environment. On my own time, I love to explore via walking and public transit, traveling by more “unusual” options when available!”
