Alta was tasked with designing a signal system for a two-way separated bike lane located in the vibrant midtown/GA Tech campus area. The goal was to create an efficient signal design that incorporated bike signals and preserved pedestrian scramble phases, all while minimizing traffic delays and queues along two significant Atlanta thoroughfares. Given the high volume of vehicles and pedestrians in the area, Alta conducted a comprehensive traffic analysis, exploring various signalization alternatives to optimize traffic flow in the downtown region. Currently, the plans are nearing completion, reaching the 90% phase.
