Globalbike Non-Profit Sets off to Make a Difference in Tanzania

I co-founded a nonprofit named globalbike with a mission to use the transformative power of bikes to connect people and resources. They have been providing bikes to care-workers and community groups in developing countries since 2006 and, for the last two years, I had the chance to join in a weeklong bike trek in the Mt. Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania, to personally donate bikes and learn about the individuals using them. This year, I opted out of the trip (baby on the way!), but globalbike has set off with a group of 15 Americans and 16 Africans to spend this week biking in the West Kili region of Tanzania and donating 140 bikes! You can follow their journey and hear incredible stories about what a difference a bike can make — whether you are an American riding it through the hot sub-Saharan sun, or a local entrepreneur in Moshi, TZ, riding it to water trees and earn income.
