“Growing up, my best friend and neighbor were from the Netherlands, a country known for its thriving biking and walking culture. Even though we lived in suburban Ohio in the 1980s, where few kids walked to school, we made it a point to walk together every day, rain or shine. This instilled in me a deep appreciation for active transportation, which has stuck with me to this day as a year-round bike commuter. It's a value that I hope to pass on to my son as we ride together to his school and one that I feel privileged to share with others through my work at Alta Planning + Design.”
