Daniel Blair, DB

Daniel is a landscape designer in Alta’s Atlanta office. As a landscape designer with a masters degree from the University of Georgia, Daniel has spent most of his career working on ecological restoration projects throughout California. Though mostly working in wetland and riparian restoration, Daniel has experience working in fire management, trails, parks, master plans, tree mitigation plans, streetscapes, and visual impact assessments. After accidentally moving to a walkable neighborhood, Daniel switched to urban design to focus on his new passion of creating pedestrian, bicycle, and transit-friendly communities.

“Active transportation was a recent discovery for me that not only changed my career but how I live my everyday life. For decades, our land use pattern has been almost entirely dedicated to the car and this has had negative effects both fiscally and socially. I want to help reverse this by creating pedestrian-oriented and sustainable places that encourage people to be active and social.”
