Matthew Kaufman, AICP

Matthew Kaufman has more than two decades of experience developing transportation plans and programs that reduce vehicle trips, improve public health, and support smart land use. His project portfolio spans the United States and Canada and includes the creation of numerous TDM plans for redevelopment sites, shopping centers, urban corridors, office developments, and municipalities. He has extensive experience in the collection of stakeholder input through surveys, focus groups, and community events.

“Growing up, I remember sitting in my parents’ car, gazing out the window, and imagining better ways to move people. I didn’t realize there was a whole field dedicated to improving how we navigate our cities until I finished college. An urban planning degree allowed me to fulfill my childhood interest. More than 20 years into my dream job, I remain committed to reimagining our transportation system to help people travel more efficiently and sustainably.
