Our people make the difference.

Melcsi Tasnadi

Melcsi received her Bachelor’s degree in Planning at the University of Waterloo in 2023. During her studies, she enrolled in transportation courses and while living in Waterloo, ON she enjoyed volunteering in the cycling community. She completed her final co-op term with the Active Transportation team at the City of Ottawa, commuting and exploring the city by bicycle. In today’s highly saturated world, she believes walking, cycling, and rolling across streetscapes rewards us with more freedom and allows us to know our surroundings better. Melcsi looks forward to making our cities more safe, liveable, and gentle one active transportation project at a time.

“My Dad got me my first bicycle when I was 4 and taught me how to ride. Growing up in Budapest, Hungary I had the freedom to take public transit to school since grade 1 and ride my bicycle to my kayak trainings. I became a planner, and gravitated to active transportation as a subspecialty to create opportunities for others to choose walking, cycling, and other forms of active transportation. ”
