Our people make the difference.

Ryan Sharp, P.P., AICP

Ryan has built his career on making cities more livable through innovative transportation solutions. With a strategic vision and a talent for managing complex stakeholder relationships, he has led numerous successful projects, including major multi-modal street redesigns and the build out of New Jersey’s densest bicycle facilities network. Before joining Alta, Ryan served as the Director of Transportation and Parking for the City of Hoboken, where he spearheaded the nationally recognized Complete Streets and Vision Zero Programs, helping the city achieve seven consecutive years without a traffic death. His work has consistently improved safety, resilience, and equity in urban transportation systems.

“Quite simply, I am inspired by the opportunity to make a tangible difference in people's lives. Knowing that my work can save lives, enhance freedom of mobility, and improve the overall quality of public spaces is incredibly rewarding. Whether it's designing safer streets, promoting sustainable transportation options, or improving the efficiency of our transportation systems, I'm driven by the belief that transportation is more than just getting from point A to point B. It's about creating communities where people can thrive and connect with each other in a safe, convenient, and sustainable way.”
