Alta is developing plans and estimates for two mini-roundabouts on Pulgas Avenue in East Palo Alto—one at Beech Street and another at Runnymede Street. The City, with Alta’s support, initially installed temporary traffic circles at these locations. After positive community feedback, the City decided to convert these temporary traffic circles to permanent mini roundabouts, including sidewalk and striping rehabilitation at both intersections. Alta is working closely with the City to ensure the new roundabouts accommodate the SamTrans buses that use Pulgas Avenue, the corners and sidewalks are ADA compliant, and the mini roundabouts are aesthetically appealing to community members.
