Alta Planning + Design is attending the annual Congress for the New Urbanism, now in its twenty-sixth year, in Savannah, GA May 16-18, 2018. It is the premiere national event on building better places. Each year, nearly 1,500 attendees convene to hear from speakers, participate in workshops, collaborate on projects, and learn new strategies from leaders in dozens of fields. Alta will be speaking in a session that will define how New Urbanist street design principles and “complete streets” practices and guidance often diverge and identify ways to minimize or eliminate inconsistencies or conflicting approaches between them. The goal of the session is to help develop solutions that consider and integrate effective street design and urban design to promote the common objectives of complete streets and New Urbanism.
Alta Speakers:
- Stu Sirota, AICP, Principal, “Complete Streets and New Urbanism: Can We Converge Once and For All?”
