Alta served as the Lead Investigator for this federal research project, which developed a comprehensive manual for estimating the benefits of closing gaps in active transportation networks. Throughout the project, Alta tailored benefit estimation approaches to align with the capacities of different jurisdictions. The research outcomes included documented tools, methods, and case studies showcasing the environmental, health, safety, and economic advantages of addressing these gaps. Additionally, the project outlined methods for assessing how these benefits are distributed to vulnerable populations, providing a deeper understanding of their impact on equity priority groups.
