The TriMet Pedestrian Plan identifies priorities for improving walking and rolling access to transit across the TriMet service area, which encompasses 26 cities in three counties in the Portland Metro region.

Alta worked with the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and TriMet, the transit agency for the Portland metropolitan region, to develop the TriMet Pedestrian Plan.

Mapping, analyses, and community and agency input guided the formation of a pedestrian project list and recommended strategies. Alta led the mapping, analyses, online engagement, and developed the recommended strategies. The analysis identified priority locations for investment by collecting previously identified projects, identifying new projects, and prioritizing all of the projects with a pedestrian access to transit lens.

Alta also developed a suite of strategies to support implementation. It includes guidance for implementing the Plan’s list of prioritized projects and other physical improvements, as well as programmatic and policy actions that support infrastructure investments.
