As a subconsultant on the Study, Alta contributed to the planning, design, and implementation of a temporary demonstration project that provides a critical connection to parks, goods, services, arterial and other roadways in Rose Park, Fairpark and Capitol Hill. arterial and other roadways.
Demonstration Projects
The demonstration project temporarily tested ideas for one of the more problematic points along the corridor and activated the newly created public space to host events that promote the study and garner public feedback. Alta’s work on this demonstration project included the identification of necessary materials, design, and facilitating implementation with the help of community volunteers.
Public Engagement
Due to public health concerns during the pandemic, the initial vision for public outreach events could not be realized. The demonstration installation served as a billboard for the study and was aided by interpretive signage that helped point people to more information online.
