Alta is leading the development of an economic impact report and master plan for a 70-mile, three-county trail project in northern Alabama. The Singing River Trail will be a long-distance trail that connects Huntsville, Madison, Decatur, and Athens, Alabama.
The trail will connect residents in the region and serve as a tourist attraction for visitors. The trail is themed with Native American history and seeks to connect people to destinations. Alta developed a health and economic impact report to understand the financial impact on the region. Alta also branded the project through the development of a project logo and robust storymap, created by Alta’s Visual Communications Design team. In the spring of 2018, Alta led a two-day public launch charrette that engaged nearly 200 enthusiastic residents. Alta is leading the development of the master plan for the Singing River Trail that identifies routing, trail surface types, trail connections, cost estimates, funding mechanisms, and implementation/operations guidance.
