The Regional Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan identifies a vision that “Southern Nevada will develop a safe, connected, and convenient walking and bicycling system that serves as a viable transportation and recreation asset while advancing the region’s economic, educational, health, and environmental goals.”

There are four goals identified to address the vision, and these goals focus on comfort and safety, access, education and encouragement, and equity and health. The plan includes recommendations to expand the bicycle network to 2,023 miles of bike facilities, which is a 133% increase. With a focus on rider experience, the Plan recommends increasing the network from 46% to 73% high comfort bike facilities. The Plan also identifies policies and programs to support biking in Southern Nevada. Implementing the plan will involve local jurisdictions and partners taking the lead in programming funding and projects in the future.
