The Tacoma SRTS Walking Route Map project will create Suggested Walking Route maps for 36 elementary schools, safety tip sheets in five languages, and customizable outreach materials for both elementary and middle school walk and roll celebrations.

Alta is leading all elements of this project, that is funded by the Washington Traffic Safety Commission. Alta is assessing existing suggested walking routes through data and field assessments; developing updated walking routes; automating map development processes using ArcGIS; and gathering feedback about routes using Alta’s in-house public input map.

Alta’s Creative Services team is also leading the development of a variety of safety tip sheets and outreach materials, that will be consistent with established Tacoma SRTS graphic styles.
