This 12-week program in the City of Tukwila reached over 7,000 households and directly encouraged over 625 participants (approximately 9% of households contacted) to explore other forms of transportation instead of driving alone.

With a variety of new mobility options available to Tukwila residents, including Via to Transit’s first/last mile service, the community of Tukwila was selected as a target area for the King County Metro In Motion program in fall of 2019. The program aimed to reach over 7,000 households with information and directly encouraged over 625 participants (approximately 9% of households contacted) to explore other forms of transportation instead of driving alone.

Over the 12-week program, Alta engaged participants through direct mail, social media, online communications, and several in-person efforts. These included reaching 599 households in door-to-door outreach and reaching residents at partner events, such as Transportation Workshops for the ReWA ESL students and for staff and residents at SHAG Tukwila Village, and an outreach event at the Abu-Bakr Islamic Center.
