Alta is leading research into case studies and best practices for mobility hub planning and development, analyzing multimodal demand for site alternatives, conducting robust campus and community outreach, and recommending a mobility hub typology, including conceptual renderings.

As part of a larger team, Alta worked with the University of Utah and campus partners to study the location, land requirements, and programming needs for developing new campus mobility hubs. The study area includes a cluster of campuses that are adjacent to one another and jointly served by the Utah Transit Authority’s (UTA) local and regional transit networks, including bus and the TRAX light rail. Developing the guide included close coordination with the University of Utah, VA Medical Center, Research Park, and UHealth campuses; the City of Salt Lake, and UTA. The guide provides an important foundation for policy, regulatory, and program development across multiple critical areas including electric vehicle charging infrastructure, transportation equity investments, shared mobility and micromobility management, first and last mile access to transit, and right-of-way management.
