Find Alta at the 2025 NACTO Designing Cities Conference

Join Us at Designing Cities 2025! We’re heading to NACTO’s Designing Cities Conference in Seattle, WA, from May 28-31! This premier event brings together city leaders, planners, and transportation professionals to explore bold ideas for designing safer, more sustainable, and more inclusive streets. Alta team members Matthew Dydahl, Chris Allen, and Chloe Ward will be on the ground, ready to connect and share insights on the future of active transportation and equitable urban design. Also, don’t miss the chance to connect with Alta Principal Derek Abe about the newest edition of NACTO’s Urban Bikeway Design Guide and how it’s shaping the future of bike-friendly cities. You can find Derek at the following training:

Designing Bikeable Intersections

Wed May 28, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM EDT

This practical, hands-on training will dive into NACTO’s newly released Urban Bikeway Design Guide, Third Edition to help you design bikeway intersections using proven geometric designs and traffic control strategies. Sharpen your pencils, dig out your calculator, and bring your straight edge! You’ll roll away with the skills to make your city’s bikeway intersections safe and inviting for people of all ages and abilities.

Note: Although principles from previous Don’t Give Up at the Intersection workshops will be included, this year’s workshop has been updated to reflect material in NACTO’s Urban Bikeway Design Guide, Third Edition. If you enjoyed this training in the past and would like an updated refresher, this could be the year to do it!
