The Alpha Loop is a shared-used urban path encircling the core of the City of Alpharetta—providing access to community amenities such as the Big Creek Greenway and downtown Alpharetta, and complete with walking museums, placemaking, and high finish materials.

Alta worked with the City of Alpharetta to design one of the first phases of the Alpha Loop and provide branding and wayfinding support for the trail.

The segment of trail that Alta designed included a variety of challenging elements, such as connecting with a proposed underpass, development in the floodplain, a stream crossing, and meeting ADA along very steep grades. Alta led the design, construction administration, and permitting of the trail segment, while also supporting the development of trail branding and identity. Alta provided the official name of the city-wide trail system and development of the logo, design guidance, and marketing materials.
