Alta is leading a team of consultants for this visionary project, which closes a very important 1.3-mile gap between the existing Westside Trail and Westside BeltLine Connector. Atlanta BeltLine is one of the largest, most wide-ranging urban redevelopment programs in the United States, and the first SITES® registered trail in the country.

Alta’s Landscape Architects and Engineers are working collaboratively to incorporate sustainable and equity focused design into this wide-ranging project.

Bridging this gap in the Atlanta BeltLine will serve as a catalyst for job creation, inclusive transportation, climate positive action, and affordable housing in the area. Alta is working to see that public art, park space, and the use of environmentally resilient materials are incorporated into this work. Additional design features include native landscape plantings, stormwater infrastructure, trail furnishings, placemaking, lighting, retaining walls, vertical structures connecting to adjoining streets, green infrastructure, and climate-positive design materials.

Alta and project partners are providing environmental services, landscape architecture, engineering, and construction services including administration, management, and bid procurement.

In addition to being the first SITES® registered trail in the country, the Atlanta BeltLine is seeking SITES® Gold for the segment that is currently under design.
